Founded
in 2003, LocalTournaments.com began
as an idea of Rev. Henry Brock of the Myrtle Beach
Christian Retreat in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Rev.
Brock, having had the opportunity to participate in
and host many golf tournaments and fundraising events,
believed that there had to be a more simple, efficient,
and effective way to bring tournament hosts together
with participants as well as to help people and organizations
raise money on a local level. Using a model similar
to the one used by ebay.com (bringing buys and sellers
together), Local Tournaments went
live in January 2004. Since its inception, LocalTournaments.com has
attracted several business and corporate leaders, IT
professionals, and event planners who have helped develop
the features, functionality, and services that are
currently offered through LocalTournaments.com.
The
future look very encouraging for LocalTournaments.com.
Strong interest from potential investors across the
US is allowing LocalTournaments.com to be both thorough
and methodical in the pursuit of its mission to become
the premier on-line (web-based) venue for amateur athletic
